In accordance with the IB philosophy you are becoming an inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young person who helps to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect (from IB mission statement). Your portfolio and exit interview will both document and reflect this growth. In order to give you the extra listening, speaking, reading and writing practice you will need for IB, you will do the devoirs posted every month on the Wikispace. I will collect and grade the notebook and grade the activities, as well as record the scores at the end of each month. These will be a part of your assignment grades. The notebook counts as a exam/project grade which is in the 40% category. The cassette counts as a speaking proficiency assignment (10% category).
You will need a three-ring binder with a tab for each month.
You will need to buy a new 90 minute cassette tape. Put your name on the case and the cassette tape.
You will have a log to indicate the date you did the activity, the name of the activity, the score on the activity (if available) and a parent's signature. Download this form from this page.
You will keep all associated activities or projects in the notebook. I will collect it each month. I will check activities and record the grades for those activities. I also will mark scores from any activity where you took an online quiz. I will also give you a monthly notebook grade. (see above).
All papers and activities must be hole punched and fit in your notebook.
Remember to carefully follow instructions. This is one of the skills needed to be an independent learner as described by the IB profile.

Common er verbs-listen to conjugations (Listen to the entire conjugations of 10 new verbs we have not learned yet. Make a list of these 10 infinitives.) Find an online dictionary and give the English meaning for each one. Log in the date, etc. and put activity in this month's section of your notebook.
L'alphabet: Log this activity and list 10 words you could understand besides the alphabet
Allez à Webcam Escargot. Read the posts. Draw an escargot and give it a caption in French. Log this activity and put the drawing in your notebook.
Allez à LHS French classes Blog (look on the left side of Wikispace) Read the posts and comments about Lumière Têtue. Post a comment if you want. Log this activity.
